The Naruto Headband (in Japanese: 額当て, Hitai-ate) is a ninja accessory invented by the mangaka Masashi Kishimoto (the author of the mangas Naruto and Naruto Shippuden) and consists of a band of fabric where is rived with six nails a metal plate engraved with the symbol of the village that is owner is from .

In the manga, the ninja forehead headband is worn visibly by most Shinobi to show from which village they are from. That way, other ninjas can simply and rapidly recognize whether the ninja is a friend or a foe.

A collection with all Naruto Headbands!

All Naruto Headbands can be worn by a ninja once he is promoted “Genin”, which is the first grade of a ninja just before Chunin and Jonin. Not really used for protection as the protective surface is quite small, they are most of all worn as prideful accessory.

It also exists different Naruto Headbands where the symbol of the village is scratched horizontally and are called Akatsuki Headband. Akatsuki headbands are commonly worn by Nukenins (Rogue Ninjas) when they decide to rescind their allegiance to their former village.
